Graduate Engineer Trainee at Kirloskar Electric Company, Unit IV, Mysore (February 2003 – July 2003)
· The job was to assist in busbar and panel designing of medium voltage switchgears
· To prepare weekly & monthly updates about the status of on-going projects
· To model assembly/sub-assembly drawings of switchgear panels using AutoCAD package
· To calculate weights of assemblies/sub-assemblies before fabrication
· To maintain contact with local vendors.

6. Technical Projects
6.1 On-line Monitoring of Fatigue Crack Growth Rate for Servo-Hydraulic Test System Using LabVIEW
(September 2004 – Till Date)
· Carried at Structural Integrity Division (SID), National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore.
· The main objective is to develop and implement FCGR automation software LabVIEW 7.1, which allows the user to monitor fatigue crack growth on-line. Also an on-line plot of crack length vs. No of Cycles is displayed. The software is designed to have facility of automated and manual Data Acquisition (DAQ). It also guides the user to choose various test specimens according to his need.
· The calculation incorporated in the software is as per ASTM standards. Implementation of software is being done using National Instruments’ 6014 PCI A/D D/A card. The validation of software was being done by comparisons with visual measurement.
6.2 Application of MATLAB in Vibration Analysis and Control System (March 2001 to July 2001)
· A Spring Mass Damper System was considered for analysis and an application was developed using SIMULINK toolbox in the MATLAB software.
· This was backed by real time animation of the spring-mass-damper system, which used the code that was written using the software.
· The validity of the application was checked with the theoretical results and was found to be in full agreement.
· Further a code was formulated in MATLAB to generate Nyquist, Bode and root locus plots for different inputs.
6.3 Twist Drill Wear Analysis using Acoustic Emission and Artificial Neural Network Techniques
(March 2002- June 2002)
- The objective of this project was on-line monitoring of condition of the twist drill.
- Acoustic Emission and vibration parameters were recorded during the drilling process.
- Using these parameters and the average flank wear as the deciding parameter, a Neural Network was trained and tested.
- Role: To write the program for training and testing the neural network using Neural Network Toolbox in MATLAB 5.3, apart from conducting the experimental analysis in the group.

¨ Delivered a Technical Seminar on the topic ‘Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) ’ at SJCE, Mysore (In May 2002).
¨ Delivered a Technical Lecture on the topic ‘Brainstorming, the effective Problem Solving Tool’ at SJCE, Mysore (In June 2001)
¨ Attended a workshop on ‘Failure Analysis and Integrity of Automobile Structures and Components’, held at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
¨ Attended a workshop on ‘Mechatronics’, held at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.
¨ Attended a workshop on ‘Virtual Instrumentation’, conducted by National Instruments, Bangalore
¨ Programming the RT100 SCARA ROBOT for pick and place operation using RTP programming language at VIT,Vellore.
¨ Industrial visit to Mico-Bosch, Bangalore during November 2003.

Won first Place for Skits at the inter-collegiate fest held at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore during November 2000, which eventually led to participate in National Level-South Zone Inter University Festival, held at Andhra University, Vishakapatnam during December 2000.
